The Risky Whiskey Boys are Memphis’ premier guitar duo, combining versatility, taste, and professionalism. David Pool and Jimmy Smith started Risk in Memphis over 30 years ago, and have re-formed as the Risky Whiskey Boys. David played in Carson and Pool for seven years, and backed various artists including Dickey Betts, Joe Walsh, Mike Reno, Johnny Lee, John Cafferty, Jim Ed Brown, Pat Upton, Peter Rivera, and Mark Wills. David released the CD “Long Time Comin'” with the Passions, and “Jump In” with Carson and Pool, promoting “Jump In” on a 2003 European tour. Jimmy appeared in numerous guitar competitions before performing and recording with No Limit and Main Street. Jimmy and David began performing together again in 2015, have a CD in the works, and plan to keep the music pumping for a long time to come.
