FreeWorld is an independent, regionally touring, ever-evolving, Memphis-based musical ensemble that draws from influences as broad-based as Booker T. & the M.G.’s, John Coltrane, Frank Zappa, The Grateful Dead, Steely Dan, Chicago, and The Meters. These brothers under one multicultural groove have remained a consistently entertaining and informed voice on the Memphis music scene since the group’s inception in 1987.

FreeWorld is literally “new school meets old school,” and has been described in print as “The best of Memphis, New Orleans, and San Francisco – all rolled into one fresh & excitingly unique musical experience!”

FreeWorld was honored to receive a coveted Brass Note on the Beale Street Walk of Fame in 2012, and they’ve also had the honor and privilege of sharing the stage with a wide variety of musical legends over the years, including Levon Helm, The Memphis Horns, Billy Preston, Bootsy Collins, Richie Havens, Blues Traveler, Derek Trucks, Hot Tuna, Los Lobos, Dr. John, Timothy Leary, The Bar-Kays, Ann Peebles, Steve Cropper, James Cotton, Mojo Buford, Jimmie Vaughan & Double Trouble, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, and Widespread Panic just to name a few.

The Carlos Ecos Band stems from a variety of music, influenced by everything from early blues, latin, and rock, these award winning musicians have certainly made their mark on music. Members have toured with such acts as Jimmy Vaughn, Storyville, Black Oak Arkansas, Little Milton, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and many, many others. These culmination of influences and experience has made this powerhouse of Memphis Musicians what they are today.

With over 25 years of professional experience in music, Joe Restivo’s guitar playing strongly reflects his Memphis roots. Joe Restivo 4 is influenced and inspired by soul and jazz musicians such as Wes Montgomery, Tal Farlow, Steve Cropper and Reggie Young.
