War Hippies is a new country duo from USMC and US Army combat veterans, Scooter Brown and Donnie Reis. Forming in 2022, each has enjoyed a successful career of their own, with a combined 25 years of touring and over 20M streams.

Reis, a prodigy as a child, is a world-renowned violinist who has spent years on the road with various artists playing violin/fiddle, piano/keys, guitars and contributing vocals. Off the road, he has written and produced many hit songs for a wide range of artists, groups, television and film projects spanning the genres of Country, Rock, Pop, Gospel and Singer-Songwriter. Donnie’s achievements include 26 Billboard Top 10’s and 4 songs on the Billboard 200 chart.

Despite receiving a full music scholarship to Miami University, after completing his Sophomore year, Donnie chose not to pursue a career in classical music. Instead, he gave up his full scholarship and enlisted in the U.S. Army, preparing for a combat deployment after the attack on America, September 11th, 2001. Donnie Reis is a decorated US Army Combat Veteran who served with the 216th Engineer Battalion under the 1st Infantry Division during OIF from 2004-2005. He was honorably discharged in 2009. Since then, Donnie has returned to bases all over the world on multiple MWR and USO tours to entertain troops and connect with fellow warriors.

Donnie serves on the Nashville Task Force of the Special Operators Transition Foundation, at 501(c)3 which specializes in assisting Special Operations Forces veterans with the successful transition from the service into their next great careers in corporate America.

Scooter Brown is a multiple award-winning songwriter, performer & worldwide touring recording artist.  He’s performed on the Grand Ole Opry, The Ryman, numerous national television broadcasts and just about everywhere in between.  Toured with Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt, Marshall Tucker Band & Randy Travis among many other top acts in country music.  SB has been showcased by Rolling Stone, People Magazine, CMT, NRA, amongst many other major music publications.

Scott Brown is a decorated US. Marine Combat Veteran who served in Iraq in 2003 as a Scout with First Light Armored Recon Battalion. He was the assistant chief Scout for alpha company, along with section leader, squad leader and team leader.

Brown has been married for 17 years and has 4 children, 2 biological and 2 adopted.  He is the co-founder of 501c3 Base Camp 40 – Warriors In The Wild and works with numerous organizations to promote awareness in the veterans community along with human trafficking.

War Hippies has become known for their stellar live performance including tight harmonies and a brilliantly eclectic variety of songs. Their debut single, Killin’ It released in the Summer of 2022. The official music video premiered on The Country Network and held the #1 spot on the Top 40 Chart and remained in the top 5 for over 20 weeks. It also landed in the top 3 on the official VEVO Country playlist and was the top featured music video on CMT.com. Their 2nd single, The Hangman, received support from multiple editorial playlists on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Their self-titled debut album, War Hippies, released world-wide on October 14th during The Can’t Miss Tour, supporting Chris Janson and Travis Tritt. In its first week, the album reached #8 on the iTunes Country chart and #30 across all genres.
