TRIPPP is a country music trio of 20-year-old triplet brothers – Treyson, JD, and Chaz Stafford – from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Their sound includes a touch of Memphis blues, Kentucky bluegrass, and Southern rock combined with killer family harmony. They currently reside in Nashville where JD is a freshman at Belmont University in the Songwriting program, Treyson is a freshman at Belmont majoring in Biblical Studies, and Chaz is taking some time off from pursuing an Audio Engineering Technology degree at Belmont to focus on musical endeavors.

They picked up the fiddle at the age of six, but quickly moved on to other instruments. JD chose percussion and is a rare singing drummer, while also handling the roles of lead songwriter and lead singer on most of the band’s original songs. Chaz plays guitar and has a unique ear for arranging harmonies and composing the music for the words he and his brothers write. Treyson, with his deep bass voice, is the key entertainer in the trio – doing great imitations of Johnny Cash and Billy Gibbons. He plays bass guitar and a pair of stand-up basses he lovingly calls “Bertha” and “Bessie.” Treyson’s abilities take on even greater meaning when you consider he has worked his entire life to overcome autism.

Life-long athletes, they began to move away from years devoted to basketball, cross country, and swimming to focus on music after being named finalists in the Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Contest in 2017. That decision was cemented after winning a contest to open for The Kentucky Headhunters in 2018. Since then, they have been named finalists for the “Young Artist of the Year Award” at the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Arkansas Country Music Awards and “Best Local Band” in three different regional voting contests in Northeast Arkansas in 2019 and 2020. Since 2017, they’ve played more than 125 gigs throughout the Southeast, raised more than $13,000 for Make-A-Wish and other charities, and have been an opening act for artists ranging from Matt Stell to Smash Mouth.

Their biggest musical influences include The Eagles, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson, Brent Cobb, Marcus King, and Chris Stapleton. Their 2020 debut EP and their upcoming 2021 singles are all produced by fellow Arkansan Jon Conley from Paragould, Arkansas. Conley is a guitarist in Kenny Chesney’s band and a well-respected Nashville studio musician who recently played on Luke Combs’ latest album.
